At the time of opening 50 years ago the museum had no cabinets and very few exhibits.

 

This new display features the Diss Express front page, advertising the opening Diss Museum, as well as several of the original objects available to visitors in 1975, including:​

·       A mammoth's tooth

·       A lace making pillow

·       A newsvendor's poster

·       19th-century leg shackles
